Sightseeing in Beijing

Today was a fun day. We visited Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and a section of the Great Wall near Beijing. We also did some shopping and saw "the cube" and the "bird's nest" in the Olympic Village area. All were impressive. One thing I will say is that the section of the Great Wall that tourists visit near Beijing is essentially a huge stairway up the side of a mountain. It took me at least an hour to climb to the top, but the views were breathtaking. I think I will be sore in the morning. We are very tired tonight (probably still dealing with some jet lag), so I will sign off without writing as much as usual. Tomorrow will be the biggest day of our married lives. We can't wait! JP

  5. Fara and Randy passed your blog to me this afternoon. I'm glad that everything went smoothly and well. Maddox is blessed to have you two. Has anyone told you that he looks like you?
I just came back from Shanghai on Monday and know how exhausted this trip could be. Take care.
